Background

We want to create a retreat venue in an effort to offer a space for Columbus, Ohio (and it’s neighbors) to get away without going far away.

Being surrounded by nature allows us to let all of our cares float away — we asked ourselves how we can give this experience to more people, more often.

Currently -- We host our annual Yellowood Axe Camp, invite friends to do yoga by our garden, and ask folks to come out and help us harvest from time to time.

But how do we make it bigger, more impactful?

funding

The money we raise through this campaign will help us purchase a piece of rural landin Canal Winchester, Ohio (just outside of Columbus). We want to work with a local company to create a structure to host indoor events as well. This structure would be made from used shipping containers and powered via solar panels. We will also need to dig a well for water supply and install a wood burning furnace system.

Other costs that this campaign will help support:
-Docks, decks, and lean-tos
-Community Educational Garden
-Licenses and insurance
-Supplies for specialty retreats/events
-Signage and other branded collateral

timing

We are being aggressive with timing because of the fast paced real estate market in the area. Our hope is to have all funds promised by Monday, July 9th 2018.

*Once the property is acquired we will begin retreats as soon as possible, with or without structures in place. More rustic themed events will benefit from the raw land.

GRATITUDE

Any support to our campaign for The Farmstead would be greatly appreciated. We are hopeful that we can positively impact the community and would be even prouder to know that we did it with the support of folks far and wide. We are thankful from the bottom of our hearts that you would even consider financially supporting this dream -- and if you find that you cannot do so at this time, even a share or a mention of our effort would be sincerely appreciated.

After all -- It takes a village.
